Fenagh Events & Social Committee
would like to thank everyone who attended, participated and helped out in any way at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Fenagh. The rain may have dampened our clothes on the day, however, it certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of all who performed and stayed outside to watch the entertainment.
A special word of appreciation goes to the teachers and pupils of St. Caillin’s National School and Fenagh Playgroup who braved the elements and remained patient waiting for the start of our parade.
The response to our Art Competition was tremendous with over 90 entries and they were judged by two local artists, Dawn McKeon and Cathy Reynolds. The winners were Eoghan Conefrey, Ella McCrann, Darren Wrynn, Sarah Wrynn, Cormac Redican, James Ellis, Saoirse Redican, Conor O’Rourke and David Wrynn.
The best overall float was kindly judged by Michael McGovern and Tina McLoughlin with the winner of the Perpetual Trophy awarded to “Peter on TG4” with Eoin McLoughlin, Sarah Rowley, Fergal McLoughlin, James Wrynn and Cormac Scollan.
The winners from our raffle on the day were Kay Egan, Bernie Beirne, Kathleen Kelly and Geraldine McGovern.
A huge thank you to our local producers for their kind contributions to our stall, hampers and raffle prizes. We would also like to acknowledge the help from Sheree Conefrey, Laura McHugh, Rhianna and Megan McManus for their face painting and balloon modelling services on the day and to all the local children who helped us fundraise.
A final thank you to our MC, Oliver Doonan, our Stewards and for everybody’s support including donations and sponsorships, all of which is acknowledged and much appreciated.

Fenagh New Cemetery
The Cemetery Committee is pleased to announce that the new cemetery is now nearing completion. At this stage the committee would like to express out sincere thanks to all individuals and families who have contributed financially to the project to date and also to Fr Pat, Fr Sean and the Parish Pastoral Council for the substantial financial support received. Letters of acknowledgement and certificates of plot purchases where appropriate have been sent to all involved. It is hoped to have the cemetery consecrated and blessed by Bishop Colm O Reilly as soon as some outstanding works are completed. These include seeding (when weather is favourable), erection of a Cross, planting of new hedgerows and Tarmacadam of entrance/car park. There is a shortfall in funding at present to allow us complete these works. We are appealing to all who still wish or have yet to contribute to the project, or buy plots to do so now, so as to enable us to complete the outstanding works. If anyone has any family members who are not living in the parish, but might wish to be associated with this project we would be grateful if you would inform them.

The Senior Citizens party took place a number of weeks ago and was a tremendous success with approx 80 people attending the party. There was great food on the day supplied by Clara Catering (Tommy and Fionnoula Smith). The music was by Seamus Farrell who had everyone out dancing from his first song to the last. To Noel and Sinead Conerfry for the use of bar equipment and keg on the day.. Thanks to Evelyn Cafferty, Hilary Greenan, Ann Maguire, Fiona McLoughlin, Aideen Reynolds and Vera Wrynn for helping out during and after the meal. To Betty Doonan and Mary Kilkenny for putting on their dancing shoes for the evening.. To Peter Kilkenny for being barman for the day. To Oliver Doonan for doing his normal excellent job as MC. To Sean O’Rourke and Patrick Curran for helping to set up and also providing transport.
Last but not least thanks to all those people who donated spot prizes on the day (53 spot prizes in total) and to those who gave donations and also to those who contributed to the Church Gate Collection. This generosity helped to make the day a great success.
