Fenagh Notes 26th june

Trip to Feile

The Fenagh St Caillins under 14 boys team represented Leitrim at the Feile competition in Laois/ Offaly last weekend and acquitted themselves very well both on and off the field. It was an unforgettable weekend for all involved with the Laois Club Camross hosting Fenagh St Caillins with the hospitality shown by the Camross club very much appreciated. A very busy weekend for the team with a good win over Camross in the opening game on Friday afternoon ,then going on to take part in the Feile parade on Friday evening. Saturday seen the lads beat Gracefield from Offaly . The last game would see the winners go through to the Division 5 semi final. However the boys came up against a strong Warwickshire team and despite putting up a great battle against the Warwickshire team ended up on the wrong side of a 4 points to 2 points defeat.

Well done to all involved in organising this weekend for the boys. An experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives. Well done to the management team of Bobby O’Rourke, Jimmy Gilheany and Ciallain McLoughlin for having the team so well prepared for the competition.

Fenagh New Cemetery

The Cemetery Committee is pleased to announce that the new cemetery is almost complete. At this stage the committee would like to express out sincere thanks to all individuals and families who have contributed financially to the project to date and also to Fr Pat, Fr Sean and the Parish Pastoral Council for the substantial financial support received. Letters of acknowledgement and certificates of plot purchases where appropriate have been sent to all involved. It is hoped to have the cemetery consecrated and blessed by Bishop Colm O Reilly on the 15th July which will be the same day as the blessing of the graves. There is a shortfall in funding at present to allow us complete these works. We are appealing to all who still wish or have yet to contribute to the project, or buy plots to do so now, so as to enable us to complete the outstanding works. If anyone has any family members who are not living in the parish, but might wish to be associated with this project we would be grateful if you would inform them.
