2 World One Wall Handball Champions
Congratulations to Jarlath Scollan and Alan Wrynn on being crowned the World
13 and under one wall doubles champions. A marvellous achievement for those 2 young extremely talented handballers. They continue the great success that Fenagh Handball Club has enjoyed over the last number of years. Large crowds came out on Monday night to show their appreciation for these 2 lads who have done their parishand County proud. Well done Jarlath and Alan.

It could have been 2 golds for Jarlath as he came agoinisnly close to winning the World singles as well before been beaten by the Belgian handballer in a tie break. Alan Wrynn did very wll in this competition as well reaching the semi finals. Donal Wrynn also did very well in reaching the semi finals in his age group. Fenagh were very well represented at the World Handball Championships with Jarlath Scollan , Alan Wrynn ,Michelle Gaffney, Ciara McLoughlin, Alan Doonan, Cormac Scollan, Conor McKeon, Tom McKeon, David Wrynn, James Wrynn , Aaron Scollan, Donal Wrynn, Shane Doonan and Jamie Murray. Well done to all the players and trainers who had them so well prepared.

Fenagh Handball Fundraising Draw
Fenagh Handball Club has launched a fundraising draw with some great prizes on offer.
1st prize is a 1 week Holiday for 2 people in Dubai, flights and accommodation included.
2nd & 3rd Prizes – trip for 2 people to see Manchester United in old Trafford, flights and accommodation also included. Draw will take place on the 27th October 2012. Tickets are available from any committee member and are €10 each. Check out www.Fenaghhandball.com for more details.

Halloween Disco
There will be a Halloween Kiddies Disco for 5-11 year olds on Friday November 2nd from 7-9pm in the Monk’s Den. Prizes on the night for best costumes.

Fenagh Visitor Centre
Fenagh Visitor Centre is open all year round- (Heritage Centre, Indoor
Children’s Play Area, Dolmen Café, Hall rental/meeting space). It is closed Mon
Oct 29th due to Bank Holiday and open Tues Oct 30th to Friday Nov 2nd from 10am-5.30pm and Sat & Sun Nov 3rd and 4th from 12 noon-5.30pm this week. Follow us on Facebook ‘fenaghvisitorcentre’ . Free internet access (Wi-Fi) and local newspapers available to all customers. Floral Pride 2012
Fenagh Visitor Centre won first prize in the Best Business Display Category at last week’s Floral Pride Awards in Carrick on Shannon. A special word of thanks to Peter, Oliver and Patrick for having the place looking so well for the competition. Congratulations to all involved and well done to all the other winners on the night.

Aerobic /Fitness Classes
Aerobic /fitness classes continue in Fenagh Community Centre on Monday
evenings 8-9pm sharp. All levels and abilities welcome.

Fenagh Down Through the Years – we are looking for any old photos/
documents/items depicting life in and around Fenagh down through the years
— if you or a relative/neighbour/friend have any of these items you would like
to donate, we would love to display them here in the Centre or take a copy
of your photo, so have a good rummage and see what you might find in the
bottom of a long forgotten drawer or cupboard!

Community Outreach Digital Switchover Programme
Are focussing on ensuring that those who are least likely to
make the switchover to a digital television service will be
enabled to do so before the switching off of the analogue signal

Leitrim and the 1641 Rebellion
As part of their Winter Lecture Programme Ballinamore Library is hosting a
lecture “Leitrim and the 1641 Rebellion” at 8:30pm on Wednesday 24th October . The
speaker is Dr Brendan Scott a lecturer in early modern history department in NUI Maynooth. Admission to this lecture is free. All welcome.
