School Athletics
Congratulations to Fenagh National School for retaining the Gilmartin cup for the fifth year in a row in the Leitrim National Schools Atheltics Championships which were held in Manorhamilton recently. Well done to all involved.

Fenagh Foroige
Fenagh Foroige (Empowering Youth, Enriching Communities) would like to thank all those who supported the Quiz held in the Heritage Centre Saturday the 4th of May.  The quiz was held in order to raise money for both Fenagh Foroige and also Stop Suicide.  We wish to thank our sponsers on the night, all those that kindly donated and those that attended the nights events.  We hope a great night was had by all.

Fenagh NS Parents Association would like to congratulate all the boys and girls who received Confirmation on Friday May 3rd. We would also like to thank the Parish Council for use of the Community Centre over the years to provide refreshments for families after the various special Masses. The Confirmation refreshments on Friday last was the final event to be held in the Community Centre before works commences on its redevelopment.

Fenagh Community Playgroup

Fenagh Community Playgroup is now enrolling for September 2013.  We cater for children aged from 2 years 10 months up to 5 years.  We also provide places under the ECCE scheme.  If your child is going to school in September 2014 and born between 02/02/2009 and 30/06/2010 they are entitled to avail of the FREE pre-school year.  If you wish to enrol your child you can call into the playgroup which has relocated to Gorvagh Community Centre or phone the playgroup leader Ceara on 086 3593244.

Fenagh Visitor Centre

Fenagh Visitor Centre is open all year round – (Heritage Centre, Indoor Children’s Play Area, Dolmen Café, Hall rental/meeting space). It is open Monday  May 13th to Friday 17th 10.30-5.30pm and Sat/Sunday May 18th/19th 12-5.30pm.  Free internet access (Wi-Fi) and local newspapers available to all customers. Exhibition in Ballinamore Library.
Bantracht na Tuaithne Seanfhocal (ICA Proverb Exhibition) is on display in Ballinamore library until Wednesday 29th May during Library Opening Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10 – 1.30 and 2.30 – 5.30. Tuesday and Thursday 10 – 1.30 and 2.30 to 8.00. Saturday 10 -1.30 and 2.30 – 5.00

The Life and Death of Stars.
Following a very successful and interesting talk by Christophe Lombardi on The Sky at Night in Ballinamore Library on 26th March, Christophe will give a follow up talk in the library entitled “The Life and Death of Stars” on Tuesday 21st May at 8pm. Anyone who has an interest in Astronomy or anyone who simply loves looking at the night sky come along and you will not be disappointed. Remember admission is free and all are welcome.

 People with Special Needs
Cáirde Liatroim is holding a fund raising dance with TR Dallas, Mickey Clerkin and Seán McAloon in the Bush Hotel Carrick-On-Shannon on Thursday 9th May. Start 8pm. Cáirde Liatroim is a social club which provides outings for people with special needs. Great raffle prizes on the night. Tickets available at the door or contact 0862545613.

Sligo Orienteering Club
Sligo Orienteering Club is holding orienteering in Derrycarne woods, Dromod on Sunday 19th May. Registration is 12.00pm -14.00pm. Cost €5. There is Beginners and Seniors Courses available. All Welcomed.  Families and buggies welcomed. For anyone who doesn’t know what orienteering is come along on the day and you will be shown what to do. Will be signposted from the Carrick Road and the Dromod Roundabout using white and orange orienteering markers. RehabCare Ballinamore will be hosting a fundraising event on Friday the 17th of May in the resource centre here in Ballinamore from 12.30-2.30pm. We will be having a barbeque, cake sale and a sale of work. The cost of the barbeque will be 10Euro and this will include a glass of wine. We would really appreciate your support. All Welcome
