Communion
Congratulations to all the boys and girls who received First Holy Communion on Saturday May 18th in St Mary’s Church, Foxfield.  They are Lucy Keegan, Niamh Lennon, Chloe Quinn, Aisling Redican, Kayleigh McNabola, Luke Reynolds, Caolan Honeyman, Paddy McLoughlin, Paul Flynn, Ryan Curran, Darren Wrynn and Cian McGovern.

 Deepest Sympathy
Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of the late Kenneth Hargaden, New York and formerly of Cornagun who died recently after a long illness. May he rest in peace.

 Fenagh Community Playgroup
Fenagh Community Playgroup is now enrolling for September 2013.  We cater for children aged from 2 years 10 months up to 5 years.  We also provide places under the ECCE scheme.  If your child is going to school in September 2014 and born between 02/02/2009 and 30/06/2010 they are entitled to avail of the FREE pre-school year.  If you wish to enrol your child you can call into the playgroup which has relocated to Gorvagh Community Centre or phone the playgroup leader Ceara on 086 3593244.

Fenagh Tidy Towns
Fenagh Tidy Towns Committee are organising a morning of flower planting, litter control and general tidy up around the village on Wednesday May 22nd – anybody wishing to help out on the day please meet at Fenagh Visitor Centre at 11am – all help greatly appreciated!

Fenagh Visitor Centre is open all year round – (Heritage Centre, Indoor Children’s Play Area, Dolmen Café, Hall rental/meeting space). It is open Monday May 20th to Friday May 24th 10.30-5.30pm and Sat/Sunday May 25th/26th 12-5.30pm.  Free internet access (Wi-Fi) and local newspapers available to all customers. Bantracht na Tuaithne Seanfhocal (ICA Proverb Exhibition) is on display in Ballinamore library until Wednesday 29th May during Library Opening Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10 – 1.30 and 2.30 – 5.30. Tuesday and Thursday 10 – 1.30 and 2.30 to 8.00. Saturday 10 -1.30 and 2.30 – 5.00

Leitrim association  of people with Disabilities  Memorial  Event In Memory of the late Howard Cusack and Sr. Emmanuel Farrelly 5k walk and 2k Fun Run, Walk and Roll  Sunday May 26th at 12.30pm setting off from LAPWD Centre, Station road, Mohill.  The Event will be launched by Alan Devine (Louie) Fair City and dramaclub.ie and Andy McGovern, Author of “Against the odds”  Entry Fee €10, families €20 everybody of ages welcome.  Medal for everyone completing the route along with spot prizes and refreshments. Film Hour in Ballinamore Library

Table Quiz in Aid of Autism
All Ireland Table Quiz in Aid of Autism taking place in Jackie’s The Lakeland Bar, Ballinamore May 31st at 9pm. Tables of 3 or 4 30euro. Supporting families with Autism in Leitrim. Overall prize is a table of 8 at the Dubai Duty Free Ball at the K Club, also prizes on the night. Collection of old/broken mobile phones on the night also. Margaret’s Hooley
‘Margaret’s Hooley – a night of entertainment in aid of Margaret of New Orleans Birthplace on Friday 24 May 2013 in the Corn Mill Theatre & Arts Centre, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim. This is a podium for young emerging talent, and experienced performers to take to the stage in Hooley style. The Life and Death of Stars.

Following a very successful and interesting talk by Christophe Lombardi on The Sky at Night in Ballinamore Library on 26th March, Christophe will give a follow up talk in the library entitled “The Life and Death of Stars” on Tuesday 21st May at 8pm. Anyone who has an interest in Astronomy or anyone who simply loves looking at the night sky come along and you will not be disappointed. Remember admission is free and all are welcome.

 

People with Special Needs

Cáirde Liatroim is holding a fund raising dance with TR Dallas, Mickey Clerkin

and Seán McAloon in the Bush Hotel Carrick-On-Shannon on Thursday 9th

Sligo Orienteering Club

Sligo Orienteering Club is holding orienteering in Derrycarne woods, Dromod on Sunday 19th May. Registration is 12.00pm -14.00pm. Cost €5. There is Beginners and Seniors Courses available. All Welcomed.  Families and buggies welcomed. For anyone who doesn’t know what orienteering is come along on the day and you will be shown what to do. Will be signposted from the Carrick Road and the Dromod Roundabout using white and orange orienteering markers.
