Guided Tour of Fenagh Abbeys and Village

A guided tour of Fenagh Abbeys, Church of Ireland and the historic sites of Fenagh village took place on Sunday Nov 17th.  Despite the drizzle and cold a large number of people turned out to learn about Fenagh’s history and archaeology.  The guide was led by Fenagh native and Heritage Officer Nollaig Feeney who gave an excellent talk on the different historic sites dotted around the village.  The tour then continued to the Old and New Abbey ruins and the Church of Ireland which was opened especially for the day.  While the weather did hamper visibility it did not deter from the enthusiasm of the participants on the day. We were all grateful for the warm cup of tea and scones back at Fenagh Visitor Centre afterwards.  A big thank you to all who turned out for the tour despite the inclement weather and to Nollaig Feeney for being our guide for the day.  We hope to run another guided tour in the Springtime.  Any queries call Teresa at Fenagh Visitor Centre on 071 9645590.
