Christmas Lights Switch On
Santa Claus will be arriving in the village on Saturday evening next 7th December at 5:30pm to switch on the Christmas lights and he will then hand out Christmas presents to all the children in the Abbey Bar afterwards.

The Annual Table Quiz in aid of Christmas festivities will take place on Friday 27th December in Quinns Bar at 9:30pm sharp.

Christmas Floral Arrangement Class
Our annual Christmas Floral Arrangement Class takes place in Fenagh Visitor Centre on Thurs Dec 19th at 8pm. This is an ideal opportunity to make a floral centrepiece for your Christmas table, hallway etc. Entry 5 euro per person, light refreshments served. Florist to supply fresh flowers which can be purchased on the night. If you have any greenery (ivy,brambles,holly), a favourite bowl or dish, candles, etc you would like to use in your arrangement please bring along or florist will have supplies with her on the night. Ballinamore Community School Christmas Concert
On Thursday 12th and Friday 13th December the students of Ballinamore Community School will host a Christmas Variety Concert in Ballinamore Community Centre at 8pm sharp. A wonderful evening of entertainment is assured. Adult tickets €10, concessions apply and your support would be greatly appreciated.
First World War Lecture in Ballinamore Library
Neil Richardson, military history writer and lecturer on Ireland and the First World War will deliver a Talk on “How to Research and learn More about your Relatives in the British Army” at 8pm in Ballinamore Library on Wednesday 4th December. Admission is Free and all are Welcome
Gospel Choir
Gentle Reminder….Come along and hear some of the old favourite Gospel & Country songs performed by members of the Sweet Spirit Gospel Choir on Sunday 8th December 2013 in St. Georges Church & Heritage Centre, Carrick On Shannon at 8pm sharp. Sean Mahon(Rodeo Man) who has recently joined the choir will perform some well-known songs like ‘Will the Circle be unbroken’ and ‘I’ll fly away’. The great classic ‘Jerusalem’ will be performed by beautiful soprano Pearl Kielty. Pearl along with the Choir will also perform Tish Dunleavy’s new Christmas song . MaryAnn McBrien will be joined by her ‘sisters’ for the great song from Sister Act ‘ I will follow him’! That’s just a little taste of what to expect on the night in St. Georges. All proceeds from door receipts will go to the Alzheimers Unit, St. Patricks Hospital Carrick and Leitrim/Sligo Special Olympics Fund.
