Progressive 25 Card Game
Progressive 25 Winter/Spring League continues this Thursday February 18th in Fenagh Community Centre at 8.30. League prizes (Sponsored by Conefrey’s Abbey Bar), Nightly prizes and Jackpot. Entry €8 with refreshments served. Last week’s winners were PJ Greenan 9 games, P Mulligan, H Reynolds and V O’Rourke 6 games each. All new players welcome. Proceeds in aid of Fenagh Handball Club.

Senior Scor
Well done to the Senior Scor Question Time team who will be representing Leitrim in the All Ireland Finals in Killarney at start of April. The successful team was as follows : Martin Doonan, Noel O’Rourke, Vincent O’Rourke and Bill Tubman. Well done to the Set Dancers who will be representing Leitrim at the Connacht Scor Finals. The set dancing team is Martin Doonan, Jeanette Leyden, Shane McHugh, Shona McHugh, Michelle McLoughlin, Adeline McWeeney, Seamus Mc Weeney (Jnr) and Ciallain O Rourke. The other participants who turned in greta performances on the night were the Novelty Act made up of Betty Doonan, TP McLoughlin and Seamus Mollaghan. Solo Singing by Jane Crowley, Recitation by Michael Doonan (Snr) and Seamus McWeeney(Snr) and the Ballad Group was James and Jane Crowley and Peter Kilkenny.
Registration
Fenagh St Caillins Gaa are collecting membership this weekend at all training sessions and after mass in the Parochial house after this Saturday evening and Sunday morning mass. All those who have paid by Easter weekend will be entered into a membership draw. Membership monies are used to subsidise the cost of registering and insuring all players with Croke Park and the Leitrim County Board. Membership is €50 for all adult players, €30 for non players and €80 for families.

Friends of St. Patrick’s Hospital Committee are holding a Public Meeting on Thursday 18th February in the Bush Hotel at 8 pm. Ballinamore Musical Society

Spring Term Programme
A beginner Irish Sign Language course will be available in Drumshanbo Vocational School, Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim, with Irish Sign Language Teacher Valerie Mahon, fully qualified with the Centre for Deaf Studies, Trinity College Dublin. Irish Sign Language is the first language of the Irish Deaf Community, and is an important part of Deaf Culture. Irish Sign Language is NOT “Sign Language through spoken Irish” – it is the Sign Language used by the Irish Deaf community. It is a visual language, using the hands, facial expressions and body movements. Family, friends and professionals use Irish sign language to communicate with Deaf people as well is use with. Ireland and many other countries, for example England, France or America, have their own sign languages.
Irish Sign Language is not just for Deaf people and their families. Irish Sign Language can help where families have the difficulty communicating due to stroke, car accident, have Down Syndrome or Autism. Date and time to be confirmed.
