 Progressive 25 Card Game
Progressive 25 Winter/Spring League continues this Thursday 3rd March in Fenagh Community Centre at 8.30. League prizes (Sponsored by Conefrey’s Abbey Bar), Nightly prizes and Jackpot. Entry €8 with refreshments served. Last week’s winners were L O’Toole 6 games, J Holohan 5 games after a playoff. All new players welcome. Proceeds in aid of Fenagh Handball Club.

Fenagh St. Patrick’s Day Parade:  Preparations are being finalised for the Parade which starts at 2pm on Thursday March 17th.  In the coming weeks, the Committee will be contacting various people to assist on the day.  Thank you all for your support.

Fenagh Ladies GFC:  Sponsored Walk/Jog/Run:  The date is Easter Monday, 28th March at 2pm starting at the Monks Den/Heritage Centre in Fenagh.  This year we are walking/jogging/running a new route which is 7KM.  This is a fun day out for all the family.  Sponsorship cards will be available this week for all club members.  All are welcome on the day when you can register for this event so mark your calendars.

Congratulations to Sibeal Reynolds who won the u 18 Long Jump and third in the 60m at the Western Region Indoors in Athlone.

Marie Keating Cancer Mobile Unit will be at cara pharmacy Drumshanbo on Friday March 4th form 11 am to 3 pm. The cancer nurses will be available for free consultations and to supply information on simple changes we can all make to reduce our cancer risk.

Carrick Kayaking
Is going from strength to strength and pulling its weight for a small club. Congratulations to Alexsi Mzachef who qualified for the Irish Freestyle team last weekend in Tuam. Also last weekend on the River Inny, Ballymahon, congratulations to Melissa Farrell(Fenagh) who won 1st place in the U18 woman’s wild water race and Conor O’Dowd taking 3rd in the mens U18 wild water race. Both are age 15yrs. A big thanks to their coaches and mentors David Hughes & Charlie Beirne at Rivermania

Spring Term Programme
A beginner Irish Sign Language course will be available in Drumshanbo Vocational School, Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim, with Irish Sign Language Teacher Valerie Mahon, fully qualified with the Centre for Deaf Studies, Trinity College Dublin. Irish Sign Language is the first language of the Irish Deaf Community, and is an important part of Deaf Culture. Irish Sign Language is NOT  “Sign Language through spoken Irish” – it is the Sign Language used by the Irish Deaf community. It is a visual language, using the hands, facial expressions and body movements. Family, friends and professionals use Irish sign language to communicate with Deaf people as well is use with. Ireland and many other countries, for example England, France or America, have their own sign languages.
Irish Sign Language is not just for Deaf people and their families. Irish Sign Language can help where families have the difficulty communicating due to stroke, car accident, have Down Syndrome or Autism. Date and time to be confirmed. Invitation to Ballinamore St. Patricks Day Parade
So folks it has been a quick year and St. Patrick is planning to come to town again. He needs help to make the parade a success so he is inviting you all to join in. Any community groups, businesses or individuals that would like to take part please meet on Thursday 17th March at Tesco car park at 3:30 to assemble for parade at 4 pm. Those who wish to be a spectator you will also need get your fancy green gear on. The theme this year is ” IRISH IS …?” so what does it mean to you? it is quite broad so get you thinking caps on. Like every year if you would like to volunteer to help with the parade please contact Dawn.(She is even closer to retirement this year!!) We will not be posting letters out this year so spread the word. And Remember there are lots of prizes and goodies on the day along with traditional entertainmant. All new acts are welcome.
