Castlefore Development Church Gate Collection
Castlefore Development are having a Church Gate collection this Saturday evening  and Sunday morning at St Mary’s Church, Foxfield. As always your support is very much appreciated.

Progressive 25 Card Game
Progressive 25 winter/spring league finished up last Thursday night with the League winners announced on the night. In 1st place was K Foley, 2nd W Conefrey, 3rd P Mulligan, 4th S McLoughlin, 5th B Wrynn. The nightly winners were J Holohan 7 games, S Tighe and P Mulligan 6 games each. The club would like to thank Noel and Sinead Conefrey for their sponsorship of the league, and all the card players who supported us. The card game will resume in the autumn.

Communion 2016
Congratulations to all the boys and girls who received First Holy Communion on Saturday April 23rd in St Mary’s Church, Foxfield.  They are Clodagh McTiernan, Sienna Shortt, Kate Conefrey, Ashlee Canning, Nathan Farrell, Reuben McCrann, Kayla Gill and Dylan Conefrey.

Clothing recycling collection
“There will be a clothing recycling collection in St. Caillin’s N.S. on May 16th 2016. Please donate all your clean unwanted clothes, bed linen, towels, curtains, shoes, bags, belts and soft toys(no duvets or pillows please). Please drop off your bags during school hours or after school hours, any day before May 16th or drop off inside school wall. Every bag counts. Thank you.”

Fenagh Community Playgroup
Fenagh Community Playgroup are now enrolling for September 2016.  The ECCE programme has been expanded starting in September 2016 to offer children free pre-school hours from the age of 3 years.  The total number of ECCE weeks a child can avail of will depend on the child’s birth date and the age at which the child starts primary school.  There will now be 3 points during the year when a child can enrol in the scheme September, January and April. To avail of the scheme in September 2016 (Until June 2017) children must have been born between 1st January 2012 – 31st August 2013.  To avail of the scheme in January 2017 (Until June 2017) children must have been born between 1st January 2012 – 31st December 2013.  To avail of the scheme in April 2017 (Until June 2017) children must have been born between 1st January 2012 – 31st March 2014.  If you wish to enrol your child for September 2016 please contact Ceara on 086 3593244.

Fenagh Visitor Centre
Fenagh Visitor Centre is open all year round – (Heritage Centre, Indoor Children’s Play Area, Dolmen Café, Hall rental/meeting space). Fenagh Tidy Towns – Keeping Leitrim Lovely.. one sip at a time!
Re-useable tea/coffee travel cups now on sale at Fenagh Visitor Centre for 5 euro. All proceeds go towards Fenagh Tidy Towns projects.  This is an anti-litter initiative launched recently by Leitrim County Council.  Many thanks to all who came out Wednesday evening last to help collect litter, paint etc around the village and approach roads.  Another session will be scheduled soon.

Fundraiser for Temple St Childrens Hospital
A big thank you to all who donated to the Great Irish Bake fundraiser last week.  Also thanks to the local ladies who dropped in pies and cakes on the day.  A total of 162 euros was raised.

Padre Pio Healing Mass
You are warmly invited by our parish community to join with us for a Padre Pio Healing Mass in Saint Patrick’s Church, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim on Wednesday 25th May at 7.00pm.The Celebrant will be Fr. Sean Kelly, Capuchin Priest from Raheny and a native of Ballinamore.Also in attendance will be Br. Nicola from the Friary in San Giovani Rotondo where Padre Pio spent most of his priestly life until his death in 1968. Pope Francis asked for the remains of Padre Pio to be brought to the Vatican in February as part of the celebrations for this Jubilee Year of Mercy such was the dedication of this great Capuchin Saint in the many hours he spent in the confessional. Many healings have been attributed to the intercession of Saint Pio and large crowds always attend the healing Masses dedicated to his life. Blessings will take place after Mass with the relics of Saint Pio, i.e. his mittens that he wore to cover the wounds of the stigmata which he had for 50 years. Everyone is welcome.

 SAFETALK TRAINING, which prepares participants to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources. will take place in the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Cullies, Cavan on  Wednesday 11 May 2016 from 9:30a.m. to 1:00p.m. There is no cost for this training.  For further information, please contact Emer Mulligan, Resource Officer for Suicide Prevention, HSE Cavan-Monaghan Mental Health Services, on 086 1717563 or by e-mail to emer.mulligan@hse.ie.  The closing date for receipt of applications is Wednesday 27 April 2016.

Leitrim/ West Cavan Down Syndrome
Will benefit from this years ‘Percy Party’ event on Sunday night May 1st 8.30pm in the Hunt Hall, Castle Street, Mohill.   Percy’s special guest will be  Eleanor Shanley with an appearance by Thomas Moore(Colm O’Reilly).  Moore &  Percy have a lot in common in that both were born in May and  both studied in Trinity College . The County Leitrim Percy French Group with special guest Eleanor Shanley will honour Percy French and pay tribute to his fellow composer Thomas Moore who composed songs such as ‘The Minstral Boy’ (currently recorded by Jack L.), ‘Tis the last Rose of Summer’, ‘Believe me if all those endearing young charms’ and more.Leitrim/West Cavan Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland will benefit from the event.

Leitrim Branch of Irish Kidney Association.
Percy French (Frank Cadam) is the Leitrim Ambassador for the Irish Kidney Association. As part of the ‘Percy Party’ event, the’ Sliabh an Iarainn Players’ will present the great John B. Keane play ‘Moll’ in the Hunt Hall, Castle Street, Mohill on Saturday night April 30th at 8.45.pm. The Leitrim Branch of Irish Kidney Association will benefit from ‘Moll’ so some along and support this worthy cause while enjoying a great production of this play.

Ballinamore Library Events
Film/Movie Evenings each Tuesday at 7pm. Admission free and all welcome.  Details of weekly films available by contacting the Library at 071 9645566. Shakespeare 400. To coincide with the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare on April 23, 1616, the library has on display a small exhibition on Shakespeare and also a display of some of his works. The I.C.A Taispeántas Sean Fhocal Exhibition will be on display from April 22 to May 14 during Library opening hours: Mon. Wed and Fri 10-1.30, 2.30-5.30pm Tue and Thurs 10-1.30, 2.30-8pm. 5km Run
Aughawillan GAA is running a 5 km jog/ run on May 2nd. Registration is from 11:45 AM to 12:45 AM at Aughawillan football pitch. Entry is €10 for adults, €5 for children and under 16 years of age, and €20 for family (two adults and two children). This will be a timed event and there are changing and showering facilities.
