St Catherine’s Church, Fenagh
A committee has been formed to raise funds for the restoration of St Catherine’s Church, Fenagh which will involve the refurbishment of the two stained glass windows, roof and gutter repairs and repointing of the church stone. The committee has received some grant aid and are hoping to make up the shortfall with a Dream Auction which will be held in the Standing Stone on Tuesday 9th August. If you have a service you wish to donate, please contact stcatherineschurchfenagh@gmail.com. Please note that our next meeting will be held on Thursday 16th June 2016 at 9pm in the Abbey Bar.

HAVE A DAY IN DUBLIN
For the first summer in many years it is now possible to travel by public transport from Ballinamore to Dublin, spend a day on shopping or other business there, and return that evening. This has now become possible thanks to the Local Link bus service which Ballinamore Area Community Council have campaigned for over many years and which was finally introduced a number of weeks ago. A Local Link Minibus leaves Main St at 7.00 a.m. each weekday, including Saturday, and travelling by Fenagh, Gorvagh and Mohill, reaches Dromod Station in time for the 8 00 a.m. train which reaches Dublin Connolly Station at 10.00 a.m. The return train from Connolly at 5.05 p.m. is met at Dromod Station by the minibus and passengers who so wish are brought back by the same route with the bus reaching Ballinamore at 7.55 p.m. Free travel passes are accepted and the charge for other users is very moderate. Moreover, free travel pass holders who have difficulty getting to the minibus due to lack of transport should contact Local Link at 071 960437 for additional assistance. This provides a wonderful opportunity for free travel pass holders on those long bright summer days to access the Capital City and other locations and return on the same day.
