Deepest Sympathy is extended to Martin Quinn & family on the death of his father Paul Quinn who died recently. May he rest in peace.

St Catherine’s Church Restoration, Fenagh
A committee has been formed to raise funds for the restoration of St Catherine’s Church, Fenagh which will involve the refurbishment of the two stain glass windows, roof and gutter repairs and repointing of the church stone. The committee has received some grant aid and are hoping to make up the shortfall with a Dream Auction which will be held in the Standing Stone on Tuesday 9th August.  The committee are looking for donations of items or events for the Dream Auction. This could include vouchers, meal for two, Hot Air Balloon ride, overnight stay, car service, electrical services, plumbing services or simply a monetary donation. All these items will be auctioned off at the Dream Auction which will be held on Tuesday 9th August 2016 in the Standing Stone, Ballinamore at 9pm.  If you have a service you wish to donate or you know someone who would like to donate, then please contact Margaret Lawrence  on 086 8506017 or Julie on 086 0826809 or email to stcatherineschurchfenagh@gmail.com . Book of Fenagh 500 Festival July 29-31st 2016
Final reminder that bookings are now being taken for the Medieval Concert (10euro) & BBQ/Drama (15 euro) which take place during the Festival ..both these events are ticket only and as there are limited places available we would recommend you book well in advance.  All other events are free.  If you are a local business/group and would like to become a sponsor or are interested in becoming a Patron (50 euro) get in touch with the Committee at 071 9645590 or email bookoffenagh500@gmail.com.  All Festival information is online at www.fenagh.com/book of fenagh festival or call into the Visitor Centre

Fenagh Visitor Centre
Fenagh Visitor Centre is open all year round – (Heritage Centre, Indoor Children’s Play Area, Dolmen Café, Hall rental/meeting space). Mon to Friday 10.00-5.30pm and Sat/Sunday  12-5.30pm.   Free internet access (Wi-Fi), local newspapers and tourist information available to all visitors. Follow us on Facebook ‘fenaghvisitorcentre’. Baby & Toddler Summer Deal
Summer Saver Deal runs throughout the Summer months at Fenagh Visitor Centre on Thurs & Fridays 10am-noon 3 euro adult/2 euro child.  Refreshments served.  Ideal for babies-4 years.  Our usual hourly playtime continues throughout the week and party slots available if you have a birthday to plan.

We are hoping to get a Foroige Group running again in Fenagh – there will be an information evening given by Foroige’s Regional Officer September 23rd at 7pm in the Visitor Centre.  More info to follow nearer the date

Centenary Lecture on Peter Paul Galligan at Ballinamore Library
Leitrim County Library’s Centenary Lecture Series continues this month with a presentation on Carrigallen-born Peter Paul Galligan – reputedly “one of the most dangerous men in the Rebel Movement”. The lecture will be delivered by Kevin Galligan, grandson of Peter Paul Galligan, at the County Library in Ballinamore on Thursday, July 28th at 8.00 pm. Admission is free and all are welcome. Family Fun Weekend
There will be a Family Fun Weekend in aid of St Ciaran’s Services for Adults and Children with Special Needs, Carrick on Shannon in the Sheemore Inn, Kilclare on July 30th and 31st.  On Saturday July 30th there will be a 5km Fun Walk starting at 2pm, followed by refreshments.  At 9pm there will a race night with 10 races plus auction race.  On Sunday July 31st, at 3pm there is a Vintage Tractor Run with guest appearance by our Leitrim Rose, this will be followed by a BBQ, Fancy Dress – 1916 theme, penalty shoot outs and ball games.  This will be followed by music with Sean Corrigan, Aidan Clerkin & Mickey Clerkin and also a raffle and auction.  There is fantastic prizes over the course of the weekend including two tickets to Daniel O’Donnell’s Xmas Show, two tickets to the Ploughing Championships, Sunday Lunch in Nevan Maguires, Golfing for four in The K Club, trailer of timber and tickets for the All Ireland Football and Hurling final to name but a few.  So come along and support for what promises to be a brilliant weekends entertainment.

Digges & District Beekeeping Association

Summer Star Summer Reading Ballinamore Library.
The Summer Star Summer Reading initiative for children started in all libraries on Monday 20th June and will continue throughout the summer months finishing on September 3rd. There is still time to join, just call into the library for an entry form and further information.
