Heritage Week 2018 in Fenagh
As part of our Heritage Week events the launch of the “Parish of Fenagh 1907” project will take place in the Visitors Centre on Wednesday evening 22nd August at 8pm. This is a local project undertaken to identify and map the houses and families living in Fenagh in 1907. You are invited to join us for the launch of this historical project. Booklets will be available to buy on the night as a permanent reference to the townlands and families at the time. We will also be running tours of the Abbeys & Church of Ireland Aug 23, 24, 25 & 26th daily starting out at 2pm from the Visitor Centre.

Fenagh Visitor Centre
Fenagh Visitor Centre is open all year round – (Heritage Centre, Indoor Children’s Play Area, Dolmen Café, Hall rental/meeting space). Opening hours: Mon-Fri 10am-5.30pm and Sat & Sun 12-5.30pm (last admission to playarea for one hour play is 4.30pm). Free internet access (Wi-Fi), local newspapers and tourist information available to all visitors. Follow us on Face book ‘fenaghvisitorcentre’. Baby & Toddler Group
The Group will resume September 7th 10am-1pm with a special Relaunch Party to kickstart the new term – all welcome and free admission on the day.  We will have Michelle Fanning and Maresa Facepainting to entertain the children as well as a talk from Leitrim County Childcare Committee on the benefit of a local group like this.  Please spread the word in particular among new mums/dads or any grandparents/minders who may not be aware of the group and would like to come along any Friday morning throughout the year (the session runs every Friday at the Visitor Centre 10am-12pm).

Fenagh Community Centre

Hospitality Course 2018

The english we speak in Leitrim
‘The english we speak in Leitrim’ is a talk by Seán Ó Súilleabháin being held in Ballinamore Library on Tuesday August 21st at 8pm.  This most interesting talk is part of National Heritage Week 2018 Programme of events. Seán will explore how words were traditionally pronounced and how the english we speak today is influenced by the Irish language.
