McGahern Trail
Discussion evening Fenagh Visitor Centre 7pm on Wednesday 12th October. All welcome. This workshop (facilitated by Innovating Communities) is taking place in order to progress development of the Cavan-Leitrim rail trail from Mohill to Ballinamore and to incorporate and develop a McGahern “experience” in this project linking the places and people that John McGahern wrote about, where he lived and the experiences he had.
25 Card Game
The weekly Progressive 25 card game continues this Thursday night October 13th in the Community Centre at 8.30, League prizes, Jackpots, and Nightly prizes. Admission €8 with proceeds going to Fenagh Handball Club. New players welcome. Last week’s winners were Kevin Foley and Padraig Mulligan with 5 games each.

The Group meet Mondays 3pm at Fenagh Visitor Centre. New members welcome

Social Dancing will start back at Fenagh Community Centre on Wednesday evenings 19th October. More details to follow
Clothing Collection
There will be a clothes recycling collection in St. Caillin’s N.S. on October 21st. Please donate all your clean unwanted clothes, bed linen, towels, curtains, shoes, bags, belts and soft toys (no duvets or pillows please). Please drop off your bags during school hours or after school hours, any day before October 21st or drop off inside the school wall any time.
Off The Beaten Path – Art Exhibition
The exhibition is called ‘Off The Beaten Path’ and features photographs and paintings of the enchanting land and sea-scapes of North West Ireland. The exhibition is free and will be open during the regular opening hours of Fenagh Visitor Centre.
Book Club
Fenagh Visitor Centre Book club meets one Wednesday per month at 7.30pm. Our next meeting date is Wednesday 19th October and the book is ‘Klara and the Sun’ by Kazuo Ishiguro (read the book before the event so we can discuss it on the night).
Birthday Parties at the Monk’s Den
The Monk’s Den at Fenagh Visitor Centre is a great place for birthday parties. Cost: €25 non-refundable reservation fee (to be paid upon booking) + Option 1 = €12 per child (includes 2 hours of play, snacks, juice, kid’s meal, ice lolly) or Option 2 = €15 per child ( includes 2 hours of play, snacks, juice, kid’s meal, ice lolly & party bag). Fenagh Tours
Join us for a historical tour of Fenagh featuring standing stones, abbeys, churches and more. The tours are free and run from 12noon and 2pm and last for 1.5 hours. Parent & Toddler Group
Fenagh parent, baby and toddler session take place on Friday mornings from 10-12 at the visitor centre. It’s €6 per family (+€3 for extra adults) and the maximum age for kids is 4 years old.
Ballinamore Musical Society – Relaunch Night
Ballinamore Musical Society are holding a relaunch night for “9 to 5 The Musical” that will take place in Smyths Siopa Ól on Tuesday night October 18th at 8pm to make plans for staging this musical next year. Anyone interested in getting involved in the show: Production Team, music, acting, singing, stage crew, wardrobe etc. are invited to attend. We plan to hold our first rehearsal on Tuesday October 25th in the old junior school. Rehearsals will take place every Tuesday and Thursday going forward from 8pm to 10pm. Come along & bring a friend!
