There are lots of wonderful things to do around Fenagh.
Check out some excellent walking routes in and around Fenagh.
There are some great accommodation options too.
Have a look at some local maps of the area.
And of course, some relevant local information.

Greetings;
We have a client that will be driving through Leitrim by car in the beginning of this August and they are interested in some guided tours, specifically if there are any guided tours of Lough Rynn Castle. Could you provided us with any information you have? Thank you kindly,

Hi,
I’m planning on visiting Fenagh next week. I’m very much looking forward to it, but I don’t have a car and I will be relying on public transport. What is public transport like? Will I be able to travel freely or will I be very restricted? I’m arriving from Dublin. I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks,
Edward
Hi Edward thanks for getting in touch. Public transport in Fenagh is
very limited ..however we do have a local link bus system in place and
also some taxi companies in Ballinamore Town (approx 3 miles from Fenagh) ..where are you planning to stay? The
nearest railway stations to Fenagh are either Dromod or Carrick on
Shannon. Some local taxis you could contact are at this link
http://ballinamore.ie/index.php?id=65and and here is the link to the
bus service https://locallink.ie/media/1220/ballinamore-mohill-dromod-carrick-on-shannon.pdf.
Hope this helps
Kind regards

Hi,
I’m staying at the old rectory BnB. I plan on taking the train from Dublin to Carrick and then connecting to Fenagh via bus in the afternoon. I don’t plan to do much travelling, as I am mainly interested in walking around the surrounding area, so the limited transport shouldn’t be a problem.
Many thanks,
Edward
Dear Friends,
Just now, I was scrolling through information about Fenagh Abbey, and thought I saw a typo. about which I thought you might want to know:
You write:
”
With the arrival of St. Caillin and the founding of the monastic settlement, Fenagh became a great center of learning and study on Christianity. Its monks would spread the faith all over Ireland and also to Europe. It now seemed peace prevailed with no records of battles or wars until centuries later. The period of Fenagh’s prosperity lasted for several hundred years and is frequently alluded to back as a seat of learning and of hospitality in the Annuals of the Four Masters. “
Underline mine. Shouldn’t this be Annals… ?

Thanks John for getting in touch ..I will have that typo corrected. Hope the weather isn’t too crazy in NYC today!
