Off The Beaten Path – Art ExhibitionA new art exhibition will open in Fenagh Visitor Centre on the 30th of September at 7.30pm. The exhibition is called ‘Off The Beaten Path’ and features photographs and paintings of the enchanting land and sea-scapes of North West Ireland. The exhibition is free and will be open during the regular opening hours of Fenagh Visitor Centre.

Book Club
Fenagh Visitor Centre Book club meets one Wednesday per month at 7.30pm. Our next meeting date is Wednesday 19th October and the book is ‘Klara and the Sun’ by Kazuo Ishiguro (read the book before the event so we can discuss it on the night).


Hedge Cutting Scheme
This scheme is now open and aims to encourage the cutting of roadside hedges/trees along the Public Road Network. Open to all, individual applicants, communities and groups. The Grant is €75 per km of the roadside hedge/overhanging trees which are cut back. Minimum length of road network per application is 1km. In our new venture with National Ambulance Service, members of this group will be informed by the National Emergency Operations Centre when a call is put through to the National Ambulance Service by a member of the public within 10 Km radius of the Community Centre in Aughnasheelin. We will respond to this call as requested, but this is a voluntary service and response may not always be possible. We will endeavour to respond with our basic expertise and as a support to family members. We are a support to the National Ambulance Service and the ambulance will always be en route to the scene.

Photographic exhibitionA photographic exhibition will be unveiled in Ballinamore Library on Tuesday evening September 13th to mark the 100th year of An Garda Síochána.  Ballinamore born Historian, Dr. Liam McNiffe, author of the book ‘A History of the Garda Síochána’ will also give a talk entitled ‘Setting up the Garda Síochána 1922 – Mutiny and Disarming’ at 7.30pm.  All are welcome to this free event which is being organized by the Sligo/Leitrim Division of An Garda Síochána.

Beekeeping for Biodiversity
A Presentation by P.J. McLoughlin will be held in Ballinamore Library on Tuesday 16th August at 8pm. P.J. is a member of the Digges Beekeepers’ Association and producer of local ‘Leitrim Honey’. He will cover all aspects of beekeeping and the benefits for biodiversity and the environment. He is passionate about the importance of passing this ancient craft on to future generations. This free event is being held as part of National Heritage Week 2022 and all are welcome.

If you are struggling with anxiety or depression, fearful or lonely and are at a loss to know how to tackle your problems GROW may have the answer.  Grow is a community of people drawn together by firsthand experiences of mental health difficulties.  Having found practical ways of helping each other recover from mental health challenges we developed the Grow program. Our meetings are free, strictly confidential, anonymous, non-denominational and open to all. Groups are small and run by our own members, with quality leadership training provided.  Group Days and Times:  St Michaels Family Centre, Sligo – Tuesday 10:30am – 12.30pm and Wednesday 7.30pm-9.30pm.  Breffni FRC, Carrick On Shannon Wednesday from 11am-1pm.   For more info contact: Marie Gilligan – Area Co-Ordinator (Northwest). Sympathy
We are saddened to note the passing of the late Proinnsias Redican London and formerly Drumroosk Nth RIP. Deepest condolences to all the family of Proinnsias especially to his beloved wife Mary, his children Siobhan, Gráinne, Fiona, Ciara, Diarmuid and Andrais, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grand children, great grand child, brothers Andrew and Sean, sister Maureen and all his extended family and friends. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Parent & Toddler Group
Fenagh parent, baby and toddler session take place on Friday mornings from 10-12 at the visitor centre. It’s €6 per family (+€3 for extra adults) and the maximum age for kids is 4 years old.

Fenagh Tidy Towns
Work session Monday evenings 7pm from the Visitor Centre – as Tidy Towns & Love Where You Live judging is currently ongoing any extra help would be greatly appreciated over the coming weeks. 

Tours
Tours of Fenagh’s fantastic heritage sites are available in English, German or Spanish. The tour takes 1.5 hours and starts from Fenagh Visitor Centre.
